Insurance cost of adding Bilstein B12 and Rarb

Featured Replies

Hi Just got quoted additional £35 to add B12 and Whiteline RARB to Octavia VRs Stage 1 (this 3 months into the policy so for 9 months making it equivalent of £50 per year)

Does not seem too bad until you consider the car cost £264 per year to insure .

Would any of you be happy to share your additional cost?

regards

Gary

Seems bloody good all round if you ask me mate!

No cost increase for either of those alterations on my Octy, via Chris Knott.

Who is the policy with. Adding over 10% to your annual insurance cost for those two seems very excessive to me.

Elephant. Overall price is excellent. But 20% for the suspension mods was a surprise

There may be an admin fee for the change in there too

Can be a £20 admin charge sometimes. Did you include brokers, when you renewed? You'll also see some discount from those that are site sponsors on here

Did not use brokers I am afraid, was very happy at 264, and will be switching to multi car policy next year as have second car and price was fantastic. Adding a BRZ with 0 no claims, both cars £391 in total

Will go up if I add the suspension of course

That's where total cost comes in really. Cost to add tweaks, or make changes to the policy.

Plus the broker might have matched the price, or beaten it. Ah well, remember to try next year

Good to know, I'm with them too and considering a remap in the nearish future.

I think it is worth advising all tweaks in one go and preferably at renewal even if they are going to be added slightly later.

Remap is obviously a mod that usually increases a premium. CK (and others) tend to take the view that any non-performance enhancing alterations won't increase the premium.

Always worth giving them a ring before going ahead with anything.
