Stuck Hill Hold Assist?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

My Citigo has been playing up a bit recently, after leaving it parked for some time (say during work or over night) when I go to take off again it behaves as if the brakes are on.

That's the full fat pedal brakes, not a handbrake as it barely wants to move. I have to really throttle it up for 10-15 seconds and just sort of hope it "breaks free" after which it runs fine but I can smell a little burning brakes afterwards.

My theory is that maybe the Hill Hold assist isn't disengaging properly for some reason, any thoughts? The car has run in quite a bit - I've got nearly 30k on it in 18 months, that's more than most I guess so it might be something to look out for.

Take it back, sounds like the brakes are binding, probably the rear drums.

Yes that's the rear brakes stuck on. Have they got wet recently?
