random as you like ...does anyone  off the top of there head know what size oil filter socket i need to remove the oil filter from gert for a oil change and a bit of tlc .

last time i changed a oil filter a big arsed screwdriver was all that was needed .

My 1.6 tdi is a 32mm socket

My 1.9 is a 36mm.

 

As it's turbo, get a shallow one, like this

SDI's have loads of room above them so a standard socket can be used.

On my 1.4tdi Roomster its 32 mm  and yes get a shallow one
