Strange wiper fault

Featured Replies

Hi all

Bit of a weird one, this...

Twice now my window wipers have come on by themselves. First time was when driving on Sunday, then it happened again when I turned the key this morning. Both occasions the stalk was not touched. Moving the stalk up and down didn't resolve it, but activating the water squirters seemed to.

It recently had a major service on 15 June.

Any ideas? Don't really want to take it back to the garage if possible. Anything I can do myself? I had a look through the manual and a nosey under the bonnett, but it wasn't any help.

Thanks
Andrew

It hasn't got auto wipers.  Besides, it wasn't raining at the time.

Obviously the problem is so strange that nobody has any ideas... :giggle:

Anyway, hasn't happened since.

Take it to Skoda and ask them?

Unfortunately my closest garage is now pretty far away, so not so easy. But I'll maybe give them a call.
