Has anybody got a DTUK box fitted to their VRS TSI, and if so do you have any feedback.

 

I know TMWNA has fitted one but not to his car, and fitting it doesn't bother me, but I just want some info as to what the car behaves like.

 

Obviously warranty is the factor here, or am I better going for a proper re-map from say Revo etc.

If warranty is the only factor then the DTUK box is your best bet as it leaves no trace.

Ordered the tuning box and pedal box this afternoon, so should be here tomorrow  .

 

I was going to get a Revo map done, but as previously mentioned the warranty is the hanging point, especially as my gearbox has a possible issue.

 

Hopefully get to fit it all over the weekend. 

Good man you might wanna get a head light torch Butch, it'll make finding that sensor so much easier and if you look from almost under the wheel arch you'll see the angle too.

Now I've had the car for 3 months and 1700 miles I'm a little disappointed with the performance, my Mk1 VRS was stage 2 mapped (plus all the required bits) and running 228.7bhp and a bucket full of torque for a 1.8.

The mk3 is supposed to be 217bhp and 258Lbft of torque and feels no where as urgent as the Mk1, hence I wanted a remap or piggy back box, I'll fit the box but if it doesn't give what I want it'll have to be sod the warranty and go and get a remap!

Maybe, maybe not!

However my car seems to have a lot more power now after I mentioned fitting one, or did i dream I fitted a DTUK box  .

 

I do recommend trying all the settings to find which one suits you best, so iv'e read, as it can make a world of difference to how the car behaves! 

 

Iv'e also heard fitting one of their pedal box ecu's makes a difference, I think I dream't that too.
