Bolero Stereo updates?

Featured Replies

Hi, having had my 2001 Octavia written off, I've bought a lovely 2010 Octavia Scout with a Bolero unit. It regularly fails to read the SDcard and is very slow to load songs. Is there anyway to get an update of the firmware to improve this? How much is it likely to cost me?

Cheers

Hi Ady,

I'm new here, just bought a 2009 Octavia with Bolero. SD card reads OK, but doesn't play all MP3 tracks. I suspect this is because some MP3 files are encoded at variable bit rate, which I've heard can cause issues. The other thing might be your SD card's format. Here's the Bolero manual which might have some useful info: http://ws.skoda-auto.com/OwnersManualService/Data/en/Octavia_1Z/11-2012/Radio/Bolero/A5_Octavia_Bolero_CarRadio.pdf

Also, do you have the songs in folders? I read that here's a file limit as to how many tracks you can have in the root directory (i.e. all song files are just on the SD card, not organised into album or artist folders).

Cheers,

Steve

Hi thanks for the reply. I've tried all the suggestions from the forums so far some make it worse but none solved it yet. Mine won't read the cards unless I remove and replace them multiple times. I've ordered a sd slot cleaner to see if there's muck in the slot.I love my car overall though just wish I could get better service from the stereo like Bluetooth streaming from my Sony Xperia z3.
