VRS or L&K

Featured Replies

I have just sold my VRs TDi which i enjoyed owning for 4 years and 75000 miles and now want a replacement , cant make my mind up .

Does the L&K have more soundproofing than the VRs , i know it will ride softer but is it a comfortable ride .

Are there any L&K owners out there to advise please

Thnx

No the L&k does not have any extra sound proofing over normal octavia, although it may be quieter compared to vrs due to smaller wheels. See it as a octavia with loads of kit and you won't be disappointed but look elsewhere if you are after refinement as I don't find it particularly quiet.

Was gonna get a VRs but decided to go for a L&K in the end. THink it's down to what you want from it. Me, I test drove both and although there was a noticeable difference in power, obviously, the seats were more comfortable and there was a ton of toys and safety features that the VRs either didn't have and weren't options or were expensive to add. The salesman also said he'd personally take an L&K over a VRs when I asked him what his choice was. At the time, they cost about the same, roughly, and if you specced up the VRs with as many standard L&K options, it was a lto more expensive.

Personally, I'd say it's down to whether you can handle having a slower car really, although it's got enough grunt for me, and if you look on here it seems nearly if not all the 1.8 owners say they've possibly got the better engine overall, a very highly rated lump up front and I wouldn't swap it. Remember, you can always have it worked on; very easy to up it to the 200bhp the vrs has.
