Amundsden MIBII MY16 Speed Cameras

Featured Replies

I take delivery on Wednesday of my LHD (I live in France) Octy estate with the new MIBII Amundsden

Is there any way of adding custom POI's and enabling warnings on this device.

I currently have a Peugeot 3008 and managed quite easily to add them to the built in Nav on that.

I've googled the hell out of this issue and find nothing!    :wall:

Hope somebody can help.

Custom POIs can be added. But I dont know if it possible to enable warnings.

I won't tell if you don't, but I thought it was illegal to have a device that gives the location of speed cameras in France!!

Many European countries have a similar attitude to France & it probably is the reason Skoda don't include them in the satnavs as they sell cars in those countries.

You can add manual POIs (there is a tool on the Skoda navigation site to do this I think) but you cannot enable an audiable warning when you are passing a "McDonalds" ;)

Indeed, that may be the case, but I travel to Germany regularly along with Belgium and the UK, what I currently do is clone the SD in my car and swap out quickly if stopped.

It is also illegal for the police to look at your nav unit without a search warrant from a judge, so in reality, it isn't checked!

It's a scare law, not really enforceable, like most it is designed for compliance by fear rather than by law.

The law here is unclear, they say it is illegal to have exact locations, but safety zones are allowed, which I think is 500m either side of the cameras. Tom Tom and Waze have safety zones legally.

My understanding is that you can have a device that shows 'danger' locations in France but you can not call then speed camera warnings.
