Vrs tsi acceleration

Featured Replies

Has anyone measured accurately the 0-60 of the mk3 vrs tsi.(without smoke billowing from the tyres). Recently I've found I have been able to close the gap,and probably pass if they had moved over, both the 3.0 TDI Audi A5 coupe and the Polo 3.2 R32. Mines the estate which is supposed to be slightly slower than the hatch.

0-100 km  (0-62 mph)

Maybe 6.6 seconds with Traction Control off and good tyres and surface and traction.

A Golf R32 will leave you well behind, 0-62 or a rolling start, if going for it.

(you have 3 or 5 door, manual or DSG and 246 bhp minimum and different weights / tyres)

A 1.4 TSI Polo Gti 180 ps Minimum Twincharger DSG will do a genuine 6.2 second 0-62 and

smoke you as well.  Maybe a new 2015 Polo GTI 192 PS 1.8 TSI Manual might not.

The Audi will leave you behind as well if the driver went for it.

But then road racing can be classed as Careless or Dangerous driving, and not big or smart.

Maybe go to a Sprint or 1/4 Mile Drag or Thrash day and compare your car in a safe environment.

'Joking there obviously'.

Official times are just an indication and possibly done with 95 Octane Petrol,

and need taken with a pinch of salt.

Time your own car with proper timing equipment if you want to know,

different tyres, fuel and ambient temperatures all make a difference.

MK6 Golf R 2.0 TSI AWD 265 bhp minimum, real Road (damp) real world enough, and shows VW figures mean nothing.
