Police Octy on Men and Motors just now

Featured Replies

Hi,

Still watching a bit of TV after having just finished doing (yet another) 18 hour '9-5 job' ;) more like 6-0..

Octy vRS police version, dunno if it's been tweaked in any shape beyond the flashers etc, but must say, sounded good :D

Didnt seem to handle that badly round the twisties, the guy kinda just screamed it round the corners.

They're in Hartlepool (sp?), program called CrimeFighters IIRC.

Untaxed, uninsured vehicles being caught out

So thumbs up to the police there, just hope I can convince the ones nearer to do the same to the 3 cars that have been repeatedly reported to the DVLA ;)

Octavia logo in view quite a bit as well :D

Yer Hartlepool police have quite a few of the Silver ones knocking around now.

Maybe thats why people tend to slow down or pull over when I come up behind them ..... lol

Cleveland police have marked & unmarked Octavia vRS.

Strathclyde police have a 2.8 superb with a supercharger! Its a bit of a beast.

That'll be me then, i'm always quite cautious of silver octys when i'm around Hartlepool / Middlesbrough.

Just watched it. Gives a sense of self rightousness watching those muppets getting caught :P

oops that'll explain the silver vRS I pulled alongside a couple of weeks ago on the A19, sat in my black octy vRS I pulled up alongside, glanced across ....and saw a copper in there! - oops backed off a little after that. :o

Won't be catching up with silver octys anymore!

that silver one looks like its lowered

Hmmm, sounds a bit dubious to me, anyone got any evidence of this or just heresay?

The police do have some Superbs but I know for a fact they are ONLY used for high profile escort work (e.g. escorting mr blairs convoy or other high profile persons) they are not used for motorway patrols, traffic police etc etc.

Also they wont ever become a common police car as they are deemed too spacious, i.e too much room for crims to kick off in the back!!

Avon & Somerset now have a silver unmarked Superb. Definitely non-standard, but traffic officer wouldn't say how.

They've got some marked Octy vRS's as well.

There are a few marked Octy vRS' in Bristol along with a debadged 1.8T 4x4.

I have seen a few unmarked Octy vRS on the M5 as well

It was the supercharger bit more than anything that sounded dubious to me, really cant imagine the police paying out on a supercharger for 2.8V6, they just buy cars that are fast enough in the first place!! A remap I could believe but a supercharger?

unless they really wanted the sly factor of the superb

Best iv seen yet had to be undercover SL55... was staring at it admiringly whilst walking down to college as it passed... scared the **** outta me when it lit up behind the grill!

Was casually speaking to a guy about a year ago who had a Vrs and after chatting for a while he let on that he was in fact a police officer and his patrol car, also Vrs, had lighted flywheel but didn't let on if it was remapped.

just seen an unmarked silver octy round J4 of the M6
