So thinking of getting the KTM 690 Enduro R (SM TRIM)

Featured Replies

The stalls where probably from the old fuel that in the tank so I'm gonna brim it tomorrow with some VPOWER :D

Yeah maybe.

Soon goes off.

Itll be fuel injected is it?

Ah see thats where it actually works quite well/gets interesting but people are often too scared to try.    If you order without ever going to the dealer, you're buying under the distance selling re

Yeah there is a 15 min idle reset you can do just literally start the bike dont touch it let it run for 15 mins the kill the ignition and then restart should have ecu tuned the idle :D

Just ordered a LEO VINCE exhaust SBK exhaust :D

Anyone know where to get these mirrors?

Anyone know where to get these mirrors?

They look the same as (or very similar to) these:

although I've never seen them mounted in that position before, can imagine he can see much in them there.

I have two sets of those (brand new, in original packaging), if you fancy relieving me of a pair...

They're more usually seen mounted at the bar end like so (hence the name bar end mirrors, lol)

The ethanol polluted **** that they pass off as petrol in this country these days goes off in a matter of a couple of months, if you don't add fuel stabiliser. Always stock something like Silkolene Pro FST in and run it through the system, if you're parking your bike up for any length of time.

Does the 690 have a knock sensor? You're wasting your money on fancy premium unleaded if it doesn't.

It might bring the octane rating up of whats in there already though

If the fuel in the tank has gone off then the best thing to do is chuck it away, not run it through your fuel injection system and clog up your injectors.

Increase the octane rating of your fuel does nothing in itself. Higher octane fuel is just more resistant to pre ignition, and totally unnecessary in a standard engine. You need a knock sensor and clever adaptive ecu to gain any benefit from it, which most bikes don't have. Putting it in a bike (or car) that doesn't have those is literally burning money...

Depends how much is in it though.

If its just a little in the bottom of the tank, id dilute it with good stuff and run it through.

If its nearly full, obv not.

I'd drain it and bin it. How long does it take to remove the tank? 5 minutes?

Yeah not a fan of the bar end mirros they extend the length of your baars making tight filtering a pain in the arse

Not quite sure about anything on that bike if im honest... :D.

I would love a smcr but its over my bhp because im only on a A2 licence so went for a drz400 sm :D in a couple years i may get one i hope

They only make the bars a fraction wider, and make no difference to filtering. Those bar end mirrors are the same as the ones you asked about though, he's just got them mounted in a weird (and probably pretty useless) position on the bike in your pic.

Went out on it today its so different to the inline 4's very snatchy need to look up on the mod to smooth it out  :D

also it stalled twice when i was blipping the throttle so might need a look at that.

Most KTM's have a snatchy throttle response. Mine (990 SM) was horrendous when I got it. After remapping it using TuneECU it removed the majority of it and I know some have fitted a different profile cam on the throttle. I think they design their bikes to ragged everywhere with very little between the throttle being on or off. Plenty of info on the UK KTM Forum.

Enjoy your ride.

They aint useless they work because the bike is only narrow and you are high up so you look underneath your arm they do work, and what i mean about the filtering i dont know about you but when I'm filtering i get through some tiny spaces because i know how wide my bike is by where my hands sit on the bars so if it has mirror over hanging that by about 2/3 inches each side will make me more weary

The mirrors are still narrower than your elbows, and if you're filtering through gaps that are millimetres wider than your bar ends then you're asking for trouble anyway. I've used bar end mirrors for years (originally that type, since replaced with better ones), and they don't affect filtering at all. That's another discussion though, the question you asked was what the mirrors were (or, more specifically where you could get some), and the answer is that they're the ones in my earlier post, or one of the other very similar (often identical) ones on the market.
