My Fabia elegance (not estate) is an 06 and i have owned it from virtually new, its only done 65k and has had the belt and water pump done already but it is easily the best car we have ever had. I have really looked after it and we have just got back from a holiday in the south west where it ran like a dream, cruising at 80mph and 55mpg it cost chips to run and insure along with it having lost all its money. I have had it remapped so its making close to 130bhp and goes like stink..... its cappucino beige so surprises a few bigger cars due to it not having the VRS badge ! But still taking off like one. It can have a fault with the rear wash pipe coming loose but its no big deal, other than that its simply a great car. I did consider a little while ago selling it but to be honest its going nowhere, for what its worth i could not get anything near as good or with the history i know its  got. Good luck with the test drive i think you will love it.

Cheers for that mate i went to look at it and the engine was perfect run brilliantly but needed 3 new window regulators, wing, headlight, back door was dinted, grill was cracked and would have needed a back box aswell so i took a miss, needed to much work doing to it. I also went to look at the Golf and that just felt like the turbo was on its way out, same bhp as the fabia estate and it just lagged like mad all the way through the rev range i know 100bhp isnt massive amount but my 1.4 mpi felt a lot fster than it so took a miss on that aswell. Going to try get a Fabia estate though il just bide my time and wait for one to come up il be able to swap my interior and my other goodies straight over then aswell ; ) 

Thats exactly why my mint one is going nowhere, i know its history and i have treated it like a 3rd child ! There are so many dogs out there when you talking about a 10 year plus car, just be patient and keep looking, there are other owners like me out there who look after the car and do what mechanical items need doing..... before they break !

I know mate, hopefully i will find one soon need the bigger boot asap haha. Il be sad to see my little MPI go i know the car inside and out and its mechanically perfect but needs must :(

Got myself a MK4 Golf TDI PD100 FSH all belts done 15k ago and new discs and pads 2k ago all for £1000. Was up for £1295 but haggled and stood my ground and he accepted the £1000 offer in the end Just wants a valet and the central locking is temperamental on the drivers door but ive been reading up and it seems to be a common fault and is usually one of two different things and there both cheap fixes bargain in my eyes. Boot is plenty big for the pram and shopping. No need to take the wheels off before putting it in the boot now haha. I will be putting a For Sale ad up for the Fabia in the next couple days. Still waiting on the return of the log book though :( been 4 weeks now and still no sign going to ring up this week about it
