I have learned a lot about the two Octavias in our family here on this forum, many thanks to all that posted pics and how to guides.

In January 2015 my wife bought a 2007 Octavia 1.9L Elegance with the DSG gearbox.

Last week I took ownership of my father's 2002 Octavia 1.4L manual.

 

As with any car that I have ever owned, my first step was to buy a Haynes manual for reference and servicing.

I can  / have done most servicing on our cars over the years. Oil and filters, plugs and brake pads etc.

 

I look forward to being an active member of the forum and no doubt I will have many questions to ask along the way.

I also look forward to sharing any advice I can give also.
