1.9tdi engine undertray - what size self-tappers and how many?

Featured Replies

Thanks to yellowcar I've got the replacement sides I needed but my wife dropped them into the garage before I could check how many and what size of self-tappers (and spire nuts) were needed.

Anyone know, please?

Regards, Mike

Hi Mike, they're the tx25 screws which are typical of the arch liner screws and universal across vag range.  There should be 2 threaded studs on each side of the car that come down from the chassis leg for those springy washer nut type things, that you push the side tray up onto.  I'm not sure exactly how many screws you need, the petrol fitting is a bit more basic I think?  There should have been enough clips and such in the bag I sent...unless your good lady wife lost them...  Failing that you can get pre-prepared fitting kits on ebay for about £7-8 which will have everything you need and nice shiny new screws.

I'm not sure what the the thread is but you could use a bolt and large washer on the threaded studs?

Enjoy!

There are 10x T25 torx screws you can get packs of 10 off Ebay for a few pounds.
