Question for all Tuning Box owners

Featured Replies

I have been online looking at Insurance quotes with the intention of getting a box for the 1.6 CR TDI. They allow for mods, but band the tuning box as I recall at 0-10%, 10-20% and over 20% increase in power. The websites advertise "up to" figures of usually around 30% for their modules, but I know from experience and other's that they send the box out on a low setting as default and the 30% or top figure is usually unrealistic.

If you have a box and have it claimed on the insurance, how did you insure it (what power bracket) and did they need proof, did you get this from the manufacturer?

Thanks

Colm

speak to the tuning box manufacturer you wish to purchase they should be able to give you a % increase and what figure you should be telling your insurance company

mine did not ask for proof but they did ask for the tuning box make so I guess they can tell if you are lying by comparing what other users are quoting.
