"Mazda USA has decided to replace a customer's brand new MX-5 after it was wrecked mere minutes after he collected it.

The proud new owner had picked up the Launch Edition MX-5 — known as the Miata in the US — from his local dealer in Jacksonville, Florida.

But just minutes later, the new car was rear-ended by a Ford F-150, resulting in minor injuries to the customer and his wife, and major injuries to the "Soul Red" roadster (both front and rear).

When Mazda USA heard about the incident, it decided the best thing to do would be to replace the car.

Credit where credit is due; the Japanese automaker was under no obligation to do so."

Some pictures of the car in the link above.

I wonder if they had Gap insurance

Have you seen the age of the driver?

Now who does that remind me of?

Its a really good way to get some publicity off the back of someones misfortune.

The car was maybe £30.000 max? a tv advert costs about that per play :D

the power of social media eh !

closer to $25,000 so ~ £16,000

But that just makes your point stronger. Good value advertising to the dealer.
