  • hhmmm, whats this with an abarth name on ? Christmas prezzie?!     I cant believe I won these! £130 worth!     Nice progressive springs, 30mm lower, going to send them a before and after pi

Lovely thing :) I miss my old Abarth (130TC). I'm a big Fiat fan and these ^^ make me smile like I've just found a packet of Jammy Dodgers I thought I'd lost :)

You mention the seats, do they foul the roof when you tip them forward. The Strada ones were hopeless for it, in fact you wouldn't want to try and escape from the back seat in a hurry if you weren't very slim.

Nice! Love these cars.

Hope you get to the bottom of the exhaust. It looks like it should be loud looking at the size of the pipes.

ok, Ash isn't happy with the "quieter than standard" exhaust, its going in on thursday for a center silencer delete (to our local custom place) ..

he thinks the rear tailpipes stick out too far, I disagree, I think they complement the curve of the rear... what do you think ?

Alan did this to his R36, it resulted in his passengers having a dreadful time in the back seat

He had it replaced back to standard, then had a proper rear box made...sounds like it should now

rear passengers? in an abarth ? lol.. ;)

when we type in the serial number of the exhaust (and look at the lifetime guarantee that comes with it) , all the info says it doesn't have a centre silencer.....

I seriously doubt it will be too loud, when its currently quieter than stock.... exhaust man says it may not make much difference at all due to the massive rear silencer....

but we will see ;) Ash has a vid of the "before" I'll post it up, then we will take a vid of the after :)

Mind you, I might not be on Brisky for the next few days. This makes you a tease!

been in for surgery today.... center silencer delete, in the quest for more noise....

first time under the car, this is what the exhaust looked like...

IMG_0832.jpg

the welds on the centre silencer were rusting and going through anyway!

IMG_0831.jpg

nice new stainless steel straight through pipe welded in ...

IMG_0833.jpg

and this is how the exhaust looks now :) much cleaner, and about 5 kg lighter! that big centre box was bloody heavy!

IMG_0835.jpg

so in summary, the car sounds a bit meatier ticking over ...

it has a deeper growl between 3-5,000 revs, louder and more purposful,  sounds about the same at the top, and about the same cruising.....

still no pops :(

drive by video later to check that ;)

and bloody hell its addictive putting your foot down in 2nd gear in this car! TTP diff works well too :)

front bonnet... nice discreet little red sticker, red and black go well...

sunroof...

IMG_0853.jpg

hovers in the air above your head!

IMG_0854.jpg

both... although Ash thinks the sunroof one isn't in the right position, so she's buying a new one to put it right! :o lol...

well, been out for the day , took the Abarth.... did my first "standing start" in anger.... and I must say The TTC (Torque transfer control) system is miles better than the XDS system in the vRS!  I don't know if its just because its more aggressive, i have turned mine up to max before on the vRS and it was horrible, felt like it was trying to break drive shafts! But on the Abarth it feels much more like a proper diff, you could feel the transfer between the front wheels, tugging lightly from side to side to stop the wheelspin, and it took off like it had launch control! (turning the TTC on , automatically turns off the traction control.)

here is a vid of a 595 standing start, TTC off to start , and he just wheelspins the power away... (leaves a trail of black lines!)

then TTC on, and it does the perfect "granny start" a little chirp from the front wheels on the edge of traction, NO black line, it just goes!

Quite fancy one of these!

If only Skoda did a pocket rocket citigo (Bossfox you don't count as yours is/will be nuts)

its a very nice car :) (unless you value comfort ;) ) available in both manual and auto, and apparently the auto 595 now gets a dual clutch box as apposed to the competition single clutch item!

found some info about boost levels today... uk abarths should be holding boost at 0.8 bar..... well

been out and about in it today, just keeping an eye on the boost levels... in 5th at 3k it will boost to 1.4 bar (the red line on the boost gauge ) flooring it in third will see it peak at 1.3 bar, then settle at 1 bar until it gets over 5k when it starts to drop to 0.8 bar near the red line...... must be mapped then! lol.... knew it couldnt be 135 bhp! i think a RR session is in order!

someone on the facebook group has one that is mapped to hold boost at 1.1-1.2 bar , and is making 180bhp....

That car sounds like fruity little badger indeed :) I love quick small Fiats. Look forward to more pictures of your car :)
