Has anyone had any experience buying any of the vcds cables and softeware cds from ebay? Any recommended sellers of said equipment too?

All new eBay cables will be clones and we do not allow links or discussions about non genuine interfaces, sorry.

Most of the ones on eBay are fakes - avoid like the plague

 

I found that genuine ones on eBay sell for almost the cost of band new ones - I know, because I bid on loads.   Instead I bought a brand new one from an authorised dealer.

 

I got Micro-can (works on cars based on Mk5 Golf chassis, which includes my Octavia Mk 2) for £215 from MI-uk.com.   5 quid more expensive than Gendan but comes in a nice case with printed manual and at the time I ordered they had in stock for immediate delivery which other dealers didn't.  Also, with a brand new one you get the software support - not activated mine yet.

 

No brainer for me.  Buy a genuine cable.  And then when you've finished with it you should be able to recoup most of your outlay selling it on eBay

Am not gonna sell it , it is a brilliant bit of kit  :-)

 

There will come a day though, sometime in the future,  when I don't own a VAG vehicle based on a Mk 5 Golf chassis.  At that point I know that I will be able to sell my micro-can  on thief-bay for almost what I paid for it having had lots of use out of it  :-)
