Mk2 is the current shape vRS you can buy brand new.

Mk1's mostly end at 2007 bar the odd one or two that didn't get registered until 2008/2009 but these are few and far between.

There was a slight engine change on the Mk1 from an ASZ to BLT around the 2005 mark I believe. A few other things were changed too, I think the ratios on the gear boxes are also slightly different. But both are still classed as the Mk1.

Not true. The Mk 2 has ended production and the mk3 is out.

No mk3 vRS Fabia though.

Surprised this is still going.

Mk1 Fabia

2003 - 2005 - ASZ engine

2005 - 2007 - BLT engine

Mk2 Fabia

2007 - 2014?

Mk3 Fabia

2014 - present.

No mk3 vRS Fabia though.

Hence I said 'the current shape vRS you can buy brand new'. You can still buy the Mk2 vRS, probably some good deals to be had to as the dealers will likely want to shift their remaining stock to make way for the mk3 vRS whenever that is due out.

Carefully when checking breakers websites they like to call the mk1 face lift models Mk2's

How would I tell what engine mine is, and is there much if any diffarance between them mine is a 05 reg

It will be on the data sticker under your boot floor.

BLT meets Euro 4 and ASZ meets Euro 3.

The EGR design is different, and the BLT engines can have a stutter at low RPM because of this.

BLT allegedly puts out more power as standard though.

Some say Mk3 vRS might never see the daylight.. 'And anyway, if you really want a vRS, get an Octavia :moon: .'

If you pop the bonnet and look on the left hand side, there should be a timing belt cover with a small sticker on, it will have written ASZ or BLT on it.

As said above you can check log books, chassis number, stickers in the service book and sticker under the boot floor
