Fuel Leak under filter

Featured Replies

Hi, I have very little mechanical knowledge so i'm not 100% sure what i'm looking at.

I noticed a small wet area beneath the car - drivers side approx below the rear door. It looks fairly clear and to me smells like diesel. On inspection it appears to coming from a cylindrical part with connecting rubber tubes which i'm guessing is the fuel filter?

I'm wondering what the likely cause of the leak is and how serious a problem it is likely to be as i'm currently on holiday for another week with the vehicle and about 400 mile return journey home.

Strangely i only noticed this following a brake check and replacement discs/pads at halfords but i'm presuming this is just a coincidence.

Thanks, any help/advice appreciated

Welcome to the forum.

Best check with a Skoda Dealer and see if your vehicle should have been recalled.

PS

Maybe best call back into a Halfords Service Centre and ask them to look,

but let them touch nothing until a Trained Mechanic has Checked it.

Or try and find a Garage with a Mechanic working this morning and see if they can look and tell you what it is,

Brake Fluid or Diesel Leaking, or spilt or what.

sorry to butt in but ................anything that is a fire hazard requires imediate attention

Exactly.

Makes you wonder why the Volkswagen Group / Skoda as so tardy with Safety Recalls and cars have still not been dealt with that can have leaks.

Then anything like diesel dropped on road surfaces are a danger to Motorcyclists, Cyclists and other road users.
