Smartgate - word of caution..

Featured Replies

If anyone is thinking of changing their password for Smartgate, be careful.. I've managed to lock mine out it would appear, only a factory reset (by pulling the plug on the module) will reset it..  Only glad I reduced the transmit power to 5% and change the broadcast name beforehand.. It would seem that underscore characters are not well liked in the password.  It doesn't warn you, it just goes into a loop when you try to reconnect.. connecting -> authenticating -> saved... connecting -> authenticating -> saved etc.. ad infinitum..

Anyway, that's just so you know.. not spoke to anyone at Skoda yet to confirm about special characters in passwords, but that's what it looks like.. not that I would ask anyone to try it..

If anyone has instructions on how to get to the module so I could disconnect it and reconnect it, it would be useful - saves a trip to the dealer..
