1999 Octavia Estate rear window lifter

Featured Replies

Before I tear Skoda Parts a new one for not processing my order within a week, and then sending the wrong part, even though the part number is correct, please put me right.

I have had a search and it appears that the window lifter plastic part has been changed from the winged black one to the flat white one, and the 'terminal' into which it clips has also been changed. Not that MrSkodaparts gave any clue to that.

Useless to me since I still cannot fit the window, since the 'terminal' does not fit the little white slider.

?Is my only option to get a complete lifter assembly?

I have seen mention of fitting the old to the new, but no links anywhere, and I have had no luck getting the wording right in the search.

Any help gladly recieved.

Edit. The terminal is available for 12GBP+VAT and 5GBP packing. Still cheaper than a full kit....if they send it on time.

Look on eBay - if it's elecreic you can get the full regulator (minus the motor) for £17:50 including delivery - left and right hand here is the search  results

Thank you MikeC, though it has gone up 3GBP sine I first looked :(

I will go for one since I will then have a full mechanism spare too.

No Problem - the only pain is getting the door card off - if you use masking tape to hold the glass up it saves a lot of extra hassle when putting the new mech in the door (at least it did when i did the front n/s mech) :D

Done now.

The part is a bit less rigid, which was just as well since I could only line up two of the four holes at a time. It went in with a bit of squeezing here and there.

The motor swapped easily.

I was hoping to use the terminal, glass carrier, only since I had the new plastic runner, but the fit was sloppy, so I swapped the whole thing.

No problems other than ones I made for myself.
