Going to Blueflame on Friday

Featured Replies

I am off to Blueflame on Friday to have a full exhaust system fitted to my Octy :woohoo: Only downside is that I am booked in at 09:00 which means that I will need to leave my place around 05:00 - lots of strong coffee required :orb_coffe

As it is a considerable distance from Bristol (175 miles or so) I am very likely to be visiting Shifty's chippy in Blackpool  (only another 40 miles or so) - it'd be rude not to having travelled all that distance :D If any of you are in the area - how about a mini meet at tea time for some fish and chips?

Very kind of you sir. I shall look forward to hearing your new toy. Ask for me when you come in

I notice you use Veg oil

Two questions:

1. Why not best beef dripping like here in Yorkshire?

2. Ever thought of using the oil in the car?

Blueflame is not far from my house. Only about 10 mins.

Their was a nasty accident on the M58 last night. Death of a police man who was on a bike training course. Motorway was closed for 8 hours.

the old Liverpool to Bristol run. Use to do that when my brother lived down in bristol. Use to take around 2.5 hours depending on traffic.

Check it out first amigo, I spoke to them yesterday and they told me the production run of the front down-pipe was due to be completed the last week of November.

Blueflame Porkies ???????

They are stuck on a trading estate in the middle of no where so take a good book as you will probably spend a fair while on your own in the waiting room , theres a sandwich van that comes round mid morning but apart from that you might want to take some grub.

Well worth it though as the Zorsts are superb, also tail pipes can be whatever you want if its a custom item so have your ideas ready

Has anyone got some pictures of the Blue Flame exhaust fitted to the Fabia vRS ? :boing:

OK, thats it ,,,,,,,,,, you've had long 'enuf'.

What's the krack?

Did it happen?

How long did it take for the fitting?

Was the lap dancer performing in the waiting room?

Was she any good?

Calm down, calm down (said in a scouse accent  )

Ok - I have just got back from my random trip up north to visit Blueflame (and Shifty's chippy  ). I was only able to get a cat back system fitted as they did not have any down pipes + sports catalysts ready - however I am very pleased with the cat back system it sounds awesome :D:D - you really need to hear it for yourself to fully appreciate it, especially when really giving it some

I arrived at Blueflame at 09:00 on the dot (more by luck than good judgement) after a drive of 2 3/4 hours or so at an average speed of 65mph. I handed the Blueflame technician the keys at qround 09:20 and off they went to work - just over 2 1/2 hours and some random noises from the workshop later later the job was done :) My wallet was lightened to the tune of something around

Dave, you have PM

I just need to arrange to go back and get the down pipe and sports catalyst fitted sometime in the near future.

Now what did I tell ya ???? :banghead:

does anyone know what the diameter of the standard blueflame system fitted to the octavia is?

mine seems quite boomy(as phil will probably agree with) and when i went i did mention the possibility of a larger diameter for future plans of a bigger turbo so i'm wondering if the boom in my systemis because mine is bigger than yours :haha:

Bengie, the standard Octy downpipe diameter is 63mm, just measured mine as it is still stuck in the garage, need to get it booked in for the system fitting

do you mean the standard skoda downpipe or the standard issue blueflame downpipe  :o

Sorry mate, should have read standard blueflame downpipe, they do 63mm as standard for the 150/180BHP 1.8T with option of 68mm and 75mm used on the leon /TT

do you mean the standard skoda downpipe or the standard issue blueflame downpipe  :o

right, i need to get under the car to have a measure. see how big mine actually is :)

Right then, it's dry this morning, lets have some dimensions. :D

The sound as I have already mentioned and shifty will not doubt attest to is awesome' date=' the turbo can really be heard working to its maximum extent along with the deep meaty exhaust note under hard acceleration  . (when holding a steady speed the noise levels are scarcely louded than the OEM exhaust - very useful as it makes long motorway trips a peaceful event not a test of endurance)

Thanks must go to shifty for his hospitality and the ride in his car - cheers

And here I am, attesting to the awsome sound of a blueflame exhaust.

As said, no intrusive noise at all, until you hit the loud pedal, when all hell breaks loose. This is only the second blue flame system I have heard, the other being my own (thanks Col:thumbup: ) and they really are music to the ears.

Oh, and only select Octavia drivers get to ride in my car, or you will all want one........
