have read the thread on dashcams futher down and was wondering if someone can tell me if the mobius has parking protection? i've looked at a few online but as its essentially an action camera i can find no specifice reference to it?

The latest firmware introduces a basic parking protection. When the power switches off the camera can be set to record on motion detection until the battery dies. 

If you plan to wire it into a permanent live (through a power magic for example) just set the camera to record on motion detection with a long time-out and it'll record while driving or stationary.
