Locked out

Recommended Posts

I have a Skoda vRS mk3 not with kessy. I got home last night and used the fob to lock the car as normal. I've got up this morning and I'm locked out. The fob doesn't work, neither does the spare.

I've taken the cap off the drives door and tried manually with the key but that doesn't work either. Any ideas?

If the car was locked with the remote then the key in the door will not work as the doors will be deadlocked and can only unlocked with the remote locking.

Could the battery be dead somehow?

Does the MK3 have the flashing light on the drivers door to indicate the alarm is armed? If so is this flashing?

really? That's a bad design then, the hold point of the "cap off use key" is in the event that the remote no longer works. Or has this been changed?

from Manuel

The key allows you to unlock or lock the vehicle via the lock cylinder in the

driver's door » .

Read and observe and on page 53 first.

Fault with the central locking

If the warning light in the driver's door initially flashes quickly for around 2 seconds,

and then lights up for 30 seconds without interruption before flashing

again slowly, you will need to seek the assistance of a specialist garage.

When there is a failure of the central locking system the key only unlocks and

locks the driver's door. The other doors and the boot lid can be manually

locked or unlocked.

deallocks will stop the internal handle working for sure!

Andy361, you are turning the key the right way? I think anti clockwise and it may only open the one door.

The driver's door can be unlocked or locked in an emergency.

Pull on the door handle and hold.

Insert the vehicle key into the slot on the bottom of the cover » Fig. 225.

Open the cover in the direction of the arrow.

Release the door handle.

For vehicles with LHD, insert the remote control key into the lock cylinder

with the buttons facing upwards and unlock or lock the vehicle.

For vehicles with RHD, insert the remote control key into the lock cylinder

with the buttons facing downwards and unlock or lock the vehicle.

Pull on the door handle and hold.

Replace the cap in its original position.
