Subaru Impreza brembos

Featured Replies

Just a quick question (and yes I hae searched and couldn't find the answer) has anyone fitted the brembos from the Impreza to their fabia? as I believe they are all 5x100 pcd but not sure if they will have enough room under my 17" OZ Hydras?. I don't imagine the carrier will fit but I could get some made up. the reason i ask is I've been offered some good STI 4 pot  calipers with some 326mm disks (or should I say my dad says they're good) for less than £200 so worth a punt?

STIs are 5x114 (just to be different to all other Subarus which as you say are 5x100).

Just looked it up and the bore is also 56.1 compared to VAG which uses 57.1.

I know the bore is different was thinking of just using the calipers, the car they came off is a 2004 STi (should be 5 x 100?) I'm sure I could do something with Octy mk1 disks and the Scooby calipers?

Yeah, the first ones were 5x100 so should be ok.

The PCD doesn't have anything to do if the calipers fit or not, it basically describes the stud pattern and distance they are placed apart. What's important are the type of mountings lugs in this case, the offset of the caliper in relation to the disc and the offset of the wheel in relation to the caliper. Lastly wheel diameter to make sure it accommodates the disc and caliper.

You need to check out the lug centres and caliper position and see if custom brackets can be made to ensure correct positioning accommodating your disc of choice. The chances are you'll need to get a machine shop to sort.

Disc fitment is PCD dependant if you are looking at swapping discs from another manufacturer, though the disc offset or height / depth of the bell (disc centre) is also crucial to ensure it fits central to the caliper and pads and is deep enough to accommodate the caliper especially when the wheel is fitted. An easier though costlier route is custom bells and rotors with the correct bell height for the application

the short version.. Trial and a little error with a lot of faffing about and specialist machining of parts.. If you are not sure about the extent of the work involved it Maybe easier and more cost effective to go a tried and tested route

All the best with it what ever you choose to do.
