dash panel fuses

Featured Replies

Just fitted a piggy back fuse holder to rear wiper fuse to install dashcam. Works great. However, initially removed wrong fuse (diagram in book a little confusing) dropped said fuse down inside fuse box and cannot retrieve it! I do not know the amperage of the fuse that was dropped. Can anyone post the colours of the fuses as they appear from no. 28 to 31 please.

Many thanks from an old duffer!

My manual shows the rear wiper fuse as no6 and on mine that is blue 15A.

Many thanks, Urrell.

Yes, I did eventually fit the piggy back to no 6 but took a couple of fuses out on the opposite side first in error. Your helpful photo has convinced me that the fuse I dropped was a 30 amp for front power window. Will confirm that later and take more care in future!

Certainly cannot see where it went to though. Maybe amongst the gravel on my drive and not in the bowels of the fusebox!

Yet another place the manual is a total let-down.

it says its on the left of the dash but if you look its not there then realise its a left hand drive, the fuse box is on the other side with none of the fuses marked on the lid and the box is upside down if looking at the manual but the only way to notice that is by some lugs on the outside of the box.
What other country drives on the left and has a manual in English? So they cannot say its a manual common to other countries.
With this and other glaring errors in the owners manual someone needs to hang their head in shame, it's not as if it hasn't been pointed out before.

I wrote to Skoda UK in 2011 to ask if I could buy a manual for a RHD car. I had a very polite reply saying that Manuals with UK cars were. I think that all the pictures are for LHD, but are not left/right mirror symmetrical because of the different options available abroad. It is just another Skoda UK mess.

Ireland?

Ireland?

That must be a coincidence, I cannot see Skoda UK doing that for Ireland at the detriment of the UK.

Australia?

I'd prefer to avoid a headache thanks.

Or by observing that the layout of fuses by current rating in the manual in the other way up to what you see in front of you.  I agree it is somewhat confusing but it is possible to work it out layout on the basis of which rated fuses are next to which.  Well, I managed it anyway...

Since the downloadable manuals all reside on the Czech Skoda site I presume that they are produced there and Skoda UK don't have much, if any, say in the content.  (But hey, let's not pass up the chance to have a pop at Skoda UK, eh?)

NOWHERE in my manual does it give the current rating for the individual fuses, and the layout of the fuse box fuses are symmetrical. I managed it but I know a lot of others would be utterly confused by what I think is an inexcusable layout to the manual

(I can see from your picture that) There are numbers under each fuse that correspond to the numbers in the manual.  As there are a few that are vacant, it's relatively easy to work out the sequence. :)

Hi Ej, I'm talking about the paper manual that came with the car, they just haven't bothered. Obviously that was four years ago so I can't comment on current paper manuals. Maybe they have improved?

On further investigation I can (just) see the numbers but going out to the car even knowing where they are cannot make them out.

Every other car and motorcycle I've had have had the fuse location on the fuse box lid, easy to read even with a torch in the dark.
