Hi,

Although I have had my Octavia estate TDI (110) for over a year now, I have only just become a member today.

The main reason for joining, is to get some help with the very popular 'squeaky suspension' issue. I am going to my local garage tomorrow to let him look at the ARB bushes.

I bought the car, ex lease, from T C Harrisons in Sheffield, 3 years old, 55000 on the clock, FSH and previously on a fully maintained lease. (I talked them into doing the 60000 cam belt change before I bought it)

However, soon as I drove the car, I knew something was wrong. to cut a very long story short, turned out to be an issue with the turbo. TCH (via Skoda dealer) fitted new turbo, along with all the flow meters etc. all covered by there warranty. (plus a loan car while the work was done!). So although it was nearly a month after I actually bought the car that I could realy enjoy it, I can't complain about the service i received.

Anyway, one year on, the car has now done 80000 and the only problem so far is this Squeak! and if this can be fixed for

Hello and welcome. I'm sure someone will be along to help

Thanks for the reply.

Do you have any input on 'PowerFlex' replacement bushes for the ARB.

Can't make up my mind, to go with Std or PowerFlex!!!

What tends to happen with the turbos is the VNT unit which controls the boost (which is in the exhaust side of the turbo) gets stuck up with soot and jams open. This usually means its on full boost all the time which causes the engine ECU to shut boost down as a precaution.

Thanks for the reply.

I've fitted a couple of sets, personally id go for them over std ones. Easy to fit and using the supplied grease they dont squeak.

Thanks, I will try and convince my local (backstreet) garage to fit them for me. Unless...... How easy are they to fit? I'm pretty good mechanically, and don't mind having a go at things, but don't want the car off the road for a week!

Bushes are a piece of cake, just a 13mm bolt each side and a u shaped bracket.

Half hours work tops.

So if I'm going the Powerflex route, I need to know what the diameter is of the ARB on my 2001 TDI 110 Octy Estate.

Also, where is the cheapest place to get hold of Powerflex bushes?

Is there anybody who sells them in the Sheffield area?
