Mapped in the morning !

Featured Replies

Hi there I have a mk1 vrs Octavia , standard apart from konis and h and r all round , forge 008 recirc valve and being stage 1 in the morning . I've never had a car mapped so don't know what to expect . Will my car blow up ? Will it be reliable ? Will £250 give me good gains ? Any advice or experience welcome .

So how many miles has your engine done.?

Well, you asked for advice or experience!

Forgive me being a bore, but with any mods, and particularly fairly obvious mods such as these, I'm assuming you have toldyour insurers. It's important to do so, otherwise they can void your policy from outset, on the basis of non-disclosure of material facts.

This means that, not only would they have a perfectly valid reason to not pay out any claim, but you could also be had for being uninsured.

As I said, boring, I know.

Many people get away with it, yes possibly they do.

But I wouldn't want to join the ranks of those that don't, of which there are many.

Just my opinion, based on many years in the insurance industry, so please don't shoot me if you don't happen to agree with me

BTW, I had a chipped Saab vert for several years, and built a bike engined kit car, so I'm not against mods, honest!
