octavia estate greenline front and rear speaker advice

Featured Replies

Hi all first post so go gentle :nerd:

just bought a skoda octavia greenline estate 2012

I have updated the head unit to a kenwood dab with handsfree

when setting the fade between front and rear I noticed no sound from the rears, I rang my local skoda dealer who checked and told me that no speakers are fitted on my model

ok so I want to upgrade the front and rear main and tweeters speakers to a decent pair. what sizes do I need and is it a reasonable job to do

my other question is, though there are no rear speakers fitted as standard would skoda have fitted the wiring for the speakers or do I have to run wires to them from the head unit

any advice would be helpful

No one know?

Might be a case of removing the rear door cards and posting my findings

I wouldn't worry about the rears unless you regularly have rear seat passengers.  Concentrate on the front sound stage.  4 speaker surround is pretty '80s.  :p

Dynamat the doors as they are very drummy.

I think you'll find the mids are 6.5".

The tweeters are about 1.25" (which is immaterial as you just make mounts for them).

It's all the same gear as a Golf

You can buy Focal direct fit replacements or if you go "custom" you'll need to make some extra rings to clear the magnets.

There are a few threads on audio upgrades both here & the skoda section of vwwatercooled.
