Fabia free insurance offer

Featured Replies

Afternoon all, new to the forum so apologies if this should be posted in the insurance thread.

I'm going to be buying a new Fabia this weekend and was wondering if anyone has used the free insurance offer direct from Skoda? It doesn't seem to be widely advertised and I only happened to stumble upon it.

https://www.insurewithskoda.co.uk/Fabia/

I was wondering if anyone has used it? Quite bizarre that it isn't being promoted on the main Skoda website or any of their dealer network... Makes me think it's too good to be true?

Regards,

Steve

as usual, watch out for the small print

"One year's free insurance policies cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers"

so if you do go for it, you might not be able to get a great discount at the same time (or the 0% APR offer here : http://www.skoda.co.uk/models/fabiahatch2015/finance-offer )

The advert doesn't say anything about what is or isn't covered, so I would be loking for more detail first - eg does it include GAP to cover your finance, or a new car if it gets written off in the first year ?

250 excess is too high for my liking and if you already have a big NCD and you want it keep it protected "No claims discount (NCD) cannot be 'protected' during the period of the offer but can be protected at renewal"] you might find better cover for a better price which will then allow you to negociate a bigger discount on the cost of the car ?

Thanks great point. If I can't get it with the 0% finance deal then it isn't as a great a deal.

Will update once I've spoken to them.

Did you ever speak to them regarding this I'll love to find out if you could get this with the 0% APR on the PCP deal as this will save me about 2k over the year

Yeah I spoke to them this week.. it does work with the 0% deal. The guy I spoke to said it was a new offer which is why it hasn't been widely publicised yet.

Very helpful for me as I'm in London for the next year and I allowed my NCB to lapse (yes I'm an idiot!).

I pick up my new Fabia in a couple of weeks so will keep you updated on how smoothly it all goes.

Sounds like a good deal for you, new wheels too, super  :D

The way these typically work is, if the calculated insurance on a a model is say £1000, then the 'free' offer takes some or all of that figure off the car.

What I mean is, if the cars; list price is 15k, I have calculated that the avg insurance is £1000 for this model. Ordinarily I've got say 3k to discount/play with on a new model. That means I can list if for 14k with insurance included and still have a 1k margin. However if the ins costs me 3k I'd have nothing, but I would of sold the car etc, over time it should average out.

At least that's how I've understood the offer in discussions. It's not a bad thing, especially if you need an boost on the insurance ladder again. It might mean you could get the car for less, but then you have to price the insurance yourself.

The thing about deals is they are a good deal when they are a good deal for you :) and this one seems to be perfectly timed for you too :)
