Pressure washer kaput!

Featured Replies

That is almost the same package as mine, it is disappointing to see that they have gone to the 8m hose now as mine is 15m, to be honest it is too long really (can almost wash the neighbours car from my drive :giggle: ) but the extra nozzles are useful.

The C-110 is slightly less pressure than the 120 and my 130, but to be honest, for the use Chris is going to use it during a 12 month cycle I would say the choice is between the 110 and the 120, as he seems to have no use for the extra gadgets really - just my opinion though.

Well Argoose is still down this morning but say they hope to be back by 8.  My fault for being up too early. :D

In the meantime the old Karcher is stood out on the drive looking sorry for itself.  Good job the tip isn't open today or it would be down there.  So it gets to live with us for another day and then it is gone.  It's crime was stopping me from foaming the brick covered car and I doubt I will find many speaking up for it's defence.  Thinking about it I have probably had it for 10 years or more and it has leaked and pulsed for most of that time so it was probably time to invest in newer and better.

So bought the 110 as I am certain it will do all I need of one.  Thanks to all for the advice.  Once more the forum has come up with the goods.

Can the Nilfisk ones be fed from a bucket like the Karcher? Also how is it with lower than ideal mains pressure I got stop/start issues with the karcher?

Cheers

Yes you can use a bucket but I have good pressure so I can't comment on that

I would assume that if it can be taken from a bucket then water pressure won't be a problem

I would be on to my water supplier if I had bad mains pressure , a problem at the pumping station ?

It's *just* high enough for them to say it's acceptable, apparently. It's frustrating but I'm at the top of a decent sized hill and I don't know it that is a factor.

Could be a factor with the extra pumping effort required. Stupid question maybe but your stopcock is fully open isn't it?

Just to finish my side of this.  Bought the 110 from Cleanstore as recommended by you Guys (thanks) and it arrived the next day.  I didn't pay for next day delivery so was expecting it in the next week sometime.  I ordered a longer hose at the same time plus it came with a load of free brass connectors and a plastic hose gun!  It does mean I have the short hose spare and would have preferred to have an option of which hose to buy rather than have to buy an extra one but it is what it is.

I have used it once and it did what it said on the box.  Only time will tell how long it does that for but it didn't leak nor pulse so that was a vast improvement.  Had to order an adaptor for my snow lance but that was only a fiver and it arrived yesterday is fitted but not used yet.

All in all happy with the advice, service of the companies and the product.

Best thing to do with a longer hose. Is connect hose pipe and longer hose. Then turn the tap on to get water through the system and out the hose before you put the gun on and use it

Yes I noticed that the water came straight out until I put the gun on it.  I guess that makes sure it isn't pumping dry for a second or two.

As J306TD said, I normally put mine together apart from fitting the snow foam lance when I first use it. I turn on the water but not the motor yet, I hold the trigger open till I see a good strong uninterrupted water stream, when I've got that, I fire up the motor. I also let it drain down at the end too as it says in the instructions.

Yes I think I shall get myself into a good routine that will ensure I get the best out of the machine for as long as possible.  Who knows it may see me out!

Also when I'm finished. I turn the motor and water off. Pull the trigger a few times to get some water out. I have also found turning the jet wash upside down and downside up it helps to get the rest of the water out

I tend to use the method in the instructions, which is to disconnect the water supply, then pull the trigger with the power on so that the motor is running for 2 - 3 seconds to empty the pump. you hear the note change when it is empty, then I switch off the power. Whichever method you use, it is better than leaving water in it as it gets colder.
