the long term future of the brand. Skoda have come a long way in the last 30 years, If left unchecked the Skoda brand WILL suffer like many Auto manufacturers

 

who did nothing to rectify corrosion issues before it was too late.

 

A Brand is only as good as customer perception which relies on existing cars on the road and their percieved integrity

It's as Graham said ...it's a paint defect issue

NOT

A warranty/corrosion issue.

It needs to BECOME an issue in a formal sense.......ie paint 'bubbles' not associated with external or internal penetration.

Once there is a numerical register restricted to this SPECIFIC issue you have a starting point (as the yanks would say) going forward.

Spoke to PVWI, they show on their website £400 for court apearance fee, I asked about this and how many court apearances they have made, he said none as the Auto manufacturers settle before this point is reached. Skoda custom care advised I speak to PVWI. PWVI also stated that the issue as described due to the Galvanized sheet steel and zinc phosphating process is NOT a paint defect problem, they should know, it is their line of work.

 

Can I please ask this thread is restricted to sucessfull 12 year warranty claims and not discussions on if my OTHER thread is a 12 year warranty issue......

Please be specific on what sort of defect is being targeted. 

 

I suggest some form of proforma is published so people can contribute to the relevant and avoid the irrelevant....otherwise this will get messy and fail 

To be clear it is ANY sucessfull use of the 10 or 12 year corrosion warranty with details of the work done.

With caveats...

 

I had the tailgate of my 2003 Octavia estate resprayed under the warranty where the number plate light / boot catch trim wore against the tailgate and it started to rust.

 

(caveat:- when the problem recurred, Skoda declined to rectify it again as the only warranty the repaired panel then had was the 2-year warranty from the (VAG) repairer)
