Just a quick thank you to everyone....

After 14 months of looking, lots of questions & 13 test drives. I have decided that the Superb isn't for me at the moment...... I've gone in another direction & bought something stupid/sensible.

But forgot to mention what it is!?

Well, no-one can argue that you didn't give them a good enough chance to impress...

So, as above, what did you get?

I was getting ****ed off every time I missed a Superb I liked the look of.... But none of them quite did what I wanted - as much as I hoped it would!!!

So I spread out my search in the VAG group and ended up finding a rare gem!!

Here are a few pics from the advert:-

Needs a repair to the dash where that hand free kit has been drilled through it!! Other than that it's got a full service history. Paid £1000 below book for it... Collecting next Friday.

Wow not that has surprised me, OK I have not driven the V6 but every Passat  have driven they have always felt not as nice as an equivalent age / trim level Superb.

What trim level and age is it?

I think it might be this one:

Volkswagen Passat 3.2 FSI V6SEL DSG 4Motion 5dr 2006, 102,312 miles **FULL SERVICE HISTORY**. £3,990

A lovely car and, to me, a great price. Well done sir!

That's the one!!

Collect it on Friday.... . It handled just like my Jetta. The V6 bark was addictive & for the price I couldn't resist. Did a 340 mile round trip to view it on Friday. I couldn't get a big enough loan to pay off outstanding finance & buy a Superb at the same time. But buying the Passat leaves me enough to pay off the old loan, do a loft conversion on out house & have some tweaking money too....

I wasn't expecting that! Well done though and good luck with it. It obviously ticks most of the boxes for you - space, sensible enough for everyday use but fun plus room for mods as I'm sure you'll add a few! Good choice

Picking up a few R36 bits soon...

A decent smart repair on the dash, and you'll never know anything was there. Enjoy your v6!

  • 2 weeks later...

Great buy mate! I hope your enjoying it.

Will look forward to your project journal with this! ...damn you and your nicer engine cover! :P
