Can`t switch off the bluetooth bong and other vcds issues.

Featured Replies

I recently bought vcds to help with installing an RVC which I eventually managed. I then decided to change a few things according to the pinned thread above, one of them being turning off the bluetooth bong. I followed the instructions and got to "Adaptation - 10" but there was no tick box for turning off the bong.

Last year I upgraded my bluetooth module to a ************D version which gives me wi-fi. Could that be the problem. Does it need coding to the car and if so how do I do that.

Also I tried to switch the country code to Australia and get the large mph in the maxidot display which I changed but for some reason vcds wouldn`t accept the new coding.

Two things that did work ok are hill hold and XDS. Luckily I have the correct ABS module

Adaptation does not have tick boxes, rather a drop down menu that needs to be set to ‘not active’

The bluetooth may need coding depending on the car it came out of, all the later cars I have coded have it off as std.

IIRC I have not had any car (with the correct controller) that does not accept the Australian coding.

Are you sure you are coding correctly? I assume you are as you managed the XDS and HH.

Thanks Gizmo. I'll try again tomorrow but from what I remember I just couldn't see anything that could be obviously changed.

Changing to Australia, again from what I remember, a box popped up with an error code 31 (I think). I may have rushed it as I was on a roll having worked out how to enable the RVC and get hill hold and XDS working.

Tried it again and this time every change was accepted without any problems so made a few other changes while I was at it.
