Hello! I'm here for technical help

Featured Replies

Hi!

I'm here as I can't open my filler door on Fabia, am running on fumes and need to fill up for long journey tomorrow.

I think the cable between the release leaver and door is broken.

Will take in to get catch release fixed when possible, but as it's a Sunday, I just need to jimmy the thing open!

Common problem.

You need to get at the back of the filler cap and I suspect the cable holder has popped out.

Do a search and you should find info.

Oh - Welcome to Briskoda too.

I have been trying Search to find the answer, part of which is to bend the boot carpet out of the way so that you can access the rear of the filler.

Welcome.... pull the boot carpet back on that side and try fiddling with cable going to filler cap its black... like others im exactly sure on what to do... but if you can search for the post on here its easy enough.

Hope you get it sorted

Thanks for the help folks -

Didn't find the exact answer on the forums, but the reverse problem (filler door not closing). I've found I can open it by wiggling the cable and prising the flap at the same time.

Can't seem to remove the cable or fix the connection to the catch, but seening as I only fill up every 7-10 days, I don't mind going behind the carpet to release the flap - it just looks bit naff doing it on the forecourt!

Anyway, I've got a full tank and the missus won't be stressing about the trip tomorrow.

Cheers

Johnny
