Hi new on here but have enjoyed these pages for a while now,Whilst browsing I discovoured the there is an adaptor ring available for small block to big block transmisions which would be perfect for my current project,

 

Question is does anyone have the adapor ,flywheel and clutch for sale or at least part numbers??

 

My strocked and forged AFH Dellorto turbo mid mount rear wheel drive Polo would take one massive step forward if anyone has.....

So you are using a vw gearbox and want to fit a bigger engine to it right? If so you are doing it wrong. There are better options, the vw 085 transmissions are crap.

more info is needed from you as to what exactly you are trying to achieve.

I am using a in-line front wheel drive transmission from a b5.5 Passat, mounted in the rear of a 1985 vw polo breadvan.

 

The transmission is sitting behind a small block AFH engine,

 

 

So I need an adaptor to bolt a small block engine to a big block transmission...

 

This will give me mid mounted in-line rear wheel drive good long ratios and be able to bin the og 085 chocolate box transverse gearbox....

 

I am mounting the engine in a narrowed/modified 4motion golf rear axle...

Not sure such an adaptor ring exists, the one's referred to in this section are usually the ring that allows the AFH (and standard VW 1.6) to mate to the Skoda gearbox in the Felly. You could use that to mate the AFH to an old Skoda RWD gearbox, but I'm not sure you wouldn't end up with 1 forward and 4/5 reverse gears in a mid engine layout.

Doesn't a 1.6 (small block) mk4 golf come with a 02j gearbox which is used on big blocks such as 1.8t engines...?
