dpf and remap advice

Featured Replies

I plan on knocking the guts out of my dpf on my cr and also a remap.

When I get around to it would I be ok knocking it out myself and then driving straight to remap company which is 45 mins roughly away? Or would my motor suffer any type of failure?

I'm thinking if I was to keep revs low etc then this would stop sensors trying to perform a regeneration thus giving me white smoke?

You will drop straight into limp home mode i.e. limited engine speed (EML / DPF light plus flashing glowplug light).

Most companies offering the remaps will gut the DPF for you at the same time, is there really much of a saving to be had doing the DPF yourself?

What company's offer this service along with a remap?

All companies that offer a DPF removal service can remap the car, the reason being is that the DPF sensors need coding out.

The forum sponsor Shark have removed their fair share of DPF's. When I enquired I was offered different maps...

Stage 0 - DPF removal, with no extra power

Stage 1 - DPF removal, with x% more power (smoke free)

Stage 2 - DPF removal, with xx% more power

Brilliant thanks for sharing your knowledge :)

When I do go for the remap for my car it was going to be between p-torque and Shark but leaning more towards Shark in all honesty :)
