Boot light unit

Featured Replies

Hi

I upgraded my boot lamp unit to a led one and it's fantastic.

What I want to know is it possible to separate the old unit and just replace the bulb with a led one.... I couldn't find a obvious way to open it without risk damaging it

If you're talking about the lights in the boot lid (I think the combi brochure referred to them as 'floodlights', but they weren't up to the job till I put LEDs in there) then they can be separated and the bulbs replaced with LEDs. It takes a bit of careful fiddling with a small screwdriver to get them apart. Also I got no bulb errors even with the bulb completely removed, so you can stick whatever you like in (Up to the power of the old bulb anyway) without the car complaining.
