A little help with 2 fault codes from vcds

Hi Guys,

 

got vcds lite working and after taking reading it give me 2 fault codes. I knew of one with the alternator load which brings up the TC light after 10mins of driving but it has an ABS one too.  I have pasted the results below. I'm new to all this so don't understand it fully.

Does this mean I have faulty ABS sensor?

Is this related to the intermittant load signal fault?

I think the 18265 code from the ABS controller is just the same fault as the 17911 code from the engine ECU.

ABS controller getting 'anxious' 'cos it knows there's a fault that might impact its function, and saying "hey, go scan the engine ECU for faults, human!"

Will have to get someone who knows what they are doing to look for that wire that i cant find.

I think the wire you found busted probably is the one, but the corrosion on the copper has prevented you from getting a good enough contact in your repair. What colour(s) was/is it?

iirc blue was fine and this was yellow and green, defo 2 colours.  Thing is after fixing it my courtesy lights started working. It was also on passenger side and not under alternator like the Seat guide said

The two-way plug/socket where the problem usually occurs is on the passenger side. Quite close to where the lower radiator hose meets the radiator?

IIRC on your car the DFM wire will be brown/red on one side of the connector pair, changing to purple/green on the other side.

 

If it's too hard to get clean wire to work with from the existing wires, maybe splice in a new bit of wire that bypasses that connector pair completely.

Yes thats where is was, I could see radiator drain plug very near it.  It looks to be in casing so ill have to cut open the cover thats wrapped around the group of wires.  

 

Other problem is the wire inside was quite rusted and I kept on cutting right through so its right at the plug. I just abotu managed to wrap new wire around it.  Can I buy that plug from skoda? That way I can make sure it is connected up properly?? I'll probably need part number off it right?

Actually, did you clear the fault codes? It might be that your repair has worked, and those codes pre-date your fix?

Do you still get fault light(s) after 10 minutes driving, since your repair?

oh dear!  No i didnt clear them.  How do you clear the faults? Is it easy to work out by looking at screen? I dont want to mess anything up.

 

I didnt go for 10min drive after, completely forgot to check that.

There should be a button called 'clear codes' at the bottom of the window where your codes are showing?
