  1. @mczakk were you able to navigate the parts catalogue link I supplied?
  2. Follow the hard plastic pipe from the brake servo (behind brake fluid tank) towards the engine. At each point where it connects to the one-way valve, look and feel with finger tips all around it for cracks. If there is another connection of hard pipe nearer the engine, check there also.
  3. Can be because of a brake servo vacuum hose that has developed cracks and is leaking air. Which engine size does your car have?
  4. https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda/CZ/OCT
  5. Some of these things that look like just relays contain circuit boards which make them 'control units' rather than just simple relays. Usually the outer cover can be unclipped to reveal these extra components.
  6. 1J0919506M is your fan controller part number, I'm pretty sure. Has two relays inside, one powered by that fuse 8, the other by one of the strip fuses. It hangs off a bracket on the nearside chassis leg, quite near to the thermoswitch. Stuck relay will be the problem, another module swapped in should fix it.
  7. Four teeth of slippage sounds like major damage that will require a major rebuild. Dubious that it's worth it. Probably cheaper to swap a known good engine in, trouble being finding one that's known to be good at a decent price.
  8. When was the car built, and how many km has it covered? Has the fuel filter ever been changed, do you know?
  9. Acoustics of a big wide hole in cabin letting sound of fan motor out better? Will be less pumping loss too, not having to pull through bonnet vents, so will probably run quicker also?
  10. It goes through the pollen filter in either mode on Fabias. Yetis too I think?
  11. I believe in English English there are only two esses in gases.
  12. Select reverse gear and the A/C switches to recirculation mode. Stops you breathing your own exhaust.
  13. Super easy, once you get the lower dash trim off in the driver's side footwell. There's a good guide to doing that in the guide for changing evaporator temperature sensor. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/61180-fabia-evap-temp-sensor-how-to-with-pics/ Download the pdf version to see the pics. Clutch switch just turns 45 degrees to release from above pedal, opposite twist to fit new one.
  14. Early days, no details known yet, need to find a friendly IFA or mortgage advisor and see what's feasible. Age and recent health challenges won't help. Thanks for the thoughts.
  15. A message today informing me/us that the property we rent is likely to have to be sold in the near future. Probably unable to buy it.
  16. You can get refurb kits but a whole new replacement linkage is probably not much over £30 for aftermarket/pattern part.
  17. Yes, 507 00 is correct. Beyond that, it doesn't matter.
  18. Can also be dirty and/or corroded connections at any point. Green copper corrosion residue can be the clue to look for.
