New car to replace the Octavia

Featured Replies

So the Octavia is just turning 5, and I am planning my next new car, this process will undoubtedly take 5 years or so, so i need to start now.

I like the Yeti, if it were a little larger

I like the Golf Alltrack, if it were a little cheaper

I also fancy a CRV Honda, but the 1.6 diesel 2WD with the 9 speed auto (and it does not yet exist in this permutation)

Anyway, either diesel, or good economical petrol, probably automatic, with a higher "sit up and beg" seating position.

MUST have a good firm supportive man-sized seat, not the current 3/4 or 7/8 sized seats sized for wimmen.(i.e. for shorter legs, therefore squab insuifficiently long for normal males)

This car should do me to I am near done driving (probably) i.e. 75 ish

Thoughts Please

Marcus

Wait for the new LWB Yeti?

What's wrong with Octavia? Don't you think about buying a newer Octavia or you wish to have other car?

About Golf - I don't see any reason to buy VW at all. Basically you get the same by Skoda but cheaper.

if you're not buying for another 5 years it is pointless lookign at the current models as they will all have been replaced by then and you'll have ignored models as yet unreleased.

New bigger Yeti would make sense though as Gizmo has said

OK

An Octavia Scout could be in the running, dont really need 4WD (despite the VW Golf Alltrack suggestion)

But I do priortize a supportive seat, and a "proper" seating position, plus the ease of rotating at the kneez to slide my backside in, as opposed to lowering myself away way down, then cricking my neck against the roof cause I want the seat as high as poss.

I do suppose I AM thinking about the LWB Yeti, fingers crossed.

BUT

After the daughters faultless new car Toyota ownership experience (compared to my precieved dismal Skoda ownership experience, I am not sure I want another Skoda)

Preferring a Toyota or Honda, or even perhaps a Hyundai, simply because whilst not perfect, they, the Japenese are better at "fessing up" to their engineering problems, than the VAG group are, from hard experience.

And, quite seriously, it will prob take me 3 to 5 years, in part because I live in the endless hope that for me, the perfect car, is only due to be introduced, next year.

Mazda CX5 is great car.

Worth a look 2.2 Diesel 150bhp and low CO2.

Done 30k in mine since Dec and still love it.

Had Skodas for years before and had a Superb before this.

Would have had another but the leads times became too long.
