Car Mats....

Featured Replies

As my new to me Fabia didn't have any mats in it, I thought I would purchase some. There seems to be plenty of choice but one thing puzzling me is the sets I've looked at have holes in for locator pins in the floor but my car doesn't have any! Are there holes in the floor under the carpet to screw in pins?! I don't want to make holes in the carpet and find its not right!

I've never used these plastic mat fixing screws, I think that they come with VAG mat sets - should do at the price the real thing is!  In VAG cars where they come from the factory with mat fixing points, these points are actually fitted through the metal floor pan, how do I know this - well, I bought my wife a new Polo in 2002, and it had front mat fixing points but none in the rear and that car came with mats.  I bought wife a new Polo a couple of weeks ago and it also came with front mat fixings but no mats, I bought VW rubber mats for it and thought about correcting the missing rear mat fixing points, so I looked up the spares listing to see what was needed!
