Silver Steelies (or metal trims...)

Featured Replies

I quite like the idea of silver steelies, or silver-coloured metal hubcaps as seen on some models of Dacia, some mk1 Clios (I know... can you forgive me for this one?) and various other older cars. I've just got black steelies on at the moment which I hate, and some people on ebay think that £100 for a set of skoda trims is acceptable. I've toyed with the idea of spraying mine but I think they'll end up looking shiny and tacky.

I'd just want really basic stock ones - nothing expensive, I don't mind if they've come off another car - but I'm not sure what to search for to specify that I don't want the aftermarket ones that you see on a lot of euro cars. Any ideas how I'd go about finding some?

Also, will any 14", 5-nut wheels fit or do they have to be specifically for a furbie?

Wheels are 5 x 100 so anything from VAG in that size should be ok.

I've got 2 spare 14" VAG steelies you can have for free if you wanted to try and spray them first before doing it on your wheels? They need a good wire brushing but are sound otherwise.

I got the GFs steels on the Yaris powder coated and for some reason they looked weird... could have been the shade of silver or the fact I only got around to doing the back ones before she crashed it though.
