Cleaning vRS seats

Featured Replies

I had never attempted this before, but as these seats are likely to be sold in a week or two, I thought I would have a go with my "Pet Vax" (usually reserved for carpets) on them,

Initial results are positive but I am waiting for them to dry out to see if they need another treatment.  The amount of dirt in the water being tipped out was astonishing! :o

Passenger seat.  It was mainly the base on this that was a bit mucky

I think I might use this VAX a little more on interiors going forward.  I think the mongrel deserves a little TLC when she returns to me. :)

I used to use a Rug Doctor with the upholstery hand tool on my VRS seats, which always brought them up like new.

Sound awesome machines but £500 odd to buy one!? :D

I'll stick with the VAX for now I think.

Rug Doctor is about £20 to hire from Tesco, B&Q etc. We used to do all the house carpets & the VRS seats once a year.

That's pretty good I suppose. :)

Pretty good effort i would say, what shampoo did you use ?

Some kind of generic carpet cleaner stuff.  There is probably something more focussed to this sort of job but I think even just using normal warm water through it would have got a lot out.

I have used Autosmart Bio Brisk in the past, usually would spray on previously the work with a brush then would run it through the george and would work fantastic.  But it it didnt work then i would opt for the steam cleaner instead

Forgot I have a vax steam cleaner too.   Yet to unpack it though :D

Spray on - use a soft nail brush and vacuum off.

What filthy bugger lets their seats get like that too!
