ATD engine EGR blanking and EML

Featured Replies

If you blank off the EGR or block the vac pipes will it set off an EML on an ATD engine?

Cheers

There's a very easy way to find out. Just stick a golf tee in the vac pipe that goes to the big silver disc on the top, then go for a drive.

If one comes on will it go off again just by reconnecting it though?

Can't give you an iron-clad guarantee, but I would expect so. Think it's only things like airbag faults that need actively clearing after the fault is fixed.

Ive had the egr mapped out. And vag pipe bunged up. Ive had no issues whatsoever.

As above, it will come relatively quickly if not mapped out in the ECU. :)

Don't really want or need a remap so if it does come on I'll just reconnect it.

I'm sure I read somewhere that certain engines don't throw up a light.

You will be fine, Blocking the egr vac pipe on an ATD won't cause the EML to come on

Its been off all week but not driven very far.

Gonna take off the EGR and clean it this weekend, make sure its shut properly.
