Just sold my roomster

Featured Replies

Hey folks, had an 07 roomster 1.9TDI for the past 4 years.

Been a great car, super economical but many electrical bugs over the years.

- faulty alarm siren

- boot not closing (despite solenoid and latch replacement)

- boot opening when lights turned on

- split rear washer line

- warning light all the time for turning headlights (which I didn't have)

- car battery randomly draining.

Convinced a lot of these linked to some kind of water ingress as some probs go away once a bit of sun been out... Like I said, good car despite probs.

Just bought a new 1.2 TSI Yeti so I guess I'll be hopping forums now. Hope this is useful to anyone considering a roomster, some of these things I wouldn't have thought to check for (the washer line was split when I bought it and noticed water in the passenger side rear footwell, but everything else would be tricky to spot unless you had a really good test drive)

It seems you've been exceptionally unlucky with your Roomster.  I'm on my second with no issues at all.

I drove a Yeti last week and was massively impressed.  Enjoy yours!

my next car will be a yeti i think always wanted one since i first drove one a few years back

alanp1984, see you over on the Yeti forum.

Shame about your Roomster problems, they are normally reliable - like most modern Skodas.

Yeti can do much of what a Roomster can do and some extras. I like the raised driving position and extra 'toys' fitted to my Elegance. 40,000 miles in 27 months - no problems! Over 40 mpg. Comfortable, drove back from Loch Lomond to East Anglia in one day last month with no aches or pains.

I often wondered what happened to my old roomster
