can fabias have adaptive suspension?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

Has anyone experience of buying/owning a fabia with adaptive/computer controlled suspension?

I've just put a deposit on one (2010 SE 1.6CR TDi) and the spec includes it.

Is this legit or just a sales pitch?

Welcome to the forum.

Hopefully someone with knowledge will come on that knows the cars very well, or ask in the Fabia Mk2 Section.

From my knowledge it would be a very special edition id it did have Adaptive Computer Controlled Suspension.

A Skoda Special Build or Customised,

but likely someone is just giving you BS.  But an inspection of the Dampers & Springs will show what suspension it has.

Get the salesperson to get the car on the ramp with a Technician and show you this special set up.

Cheers, and thanks for the prompt reply!

I'm picking it up on Saturday, so I'll grill the rep. Shouldn't affect insurance as a 'mod' but would be interested to see if this was a genuine special option. The previous owner had a tow-bar fitted to it could be linked to towing a small trailer?

It would effect the Insurance as a Modification from Factory Standard build, and it was not a Dealer Option,

so it would have to be a 'Declared Modification' if fitted.

(maybe no extra cost on the Insurance, but if it is fitted you would need to declare.)

There are Mk2 Fabias with Air Bags fitted, but these are Modified cars,

and there are Octavia with factory fit (standard) Adaptive / Computer Controlled Suspension.

Take a look in the service book for the option codes.

I would be amazed if it has true adaptive suspension as this is only just being introduced on the top of the range Skoda’s this year
