As i am too lazy to go out to the garage to check, and I forgot to do it earlier...

Does anyone know if it is always live power wise?

I want to leave something plugged in all the time so it charges when needed but for obvious reasons don't want it powered all the time :)

From my experience the power to the MMI is not always live, but when you unlock the car it becomes live. We have an old iPod connected to it permanently and it beeps (indicating charging) when I get in the car. I guess this is all part of the smart CANBUS network. I remember reading that the cigarette lighter IS always live, but someone else can confirm.
