Clipped rear bumper. How much is a new bumper

Featured Replies

Hey guys I stupidly clipped the rear bumper of my fabia while parking. Lucky it was a metal post and not a car I was just wondering how much would a new bumper cost for the fabia monte carlo or do you think this is fixable?

There won't be many of these in the scrappies for a while yet, so best ask the dealer, or somewhere like this, who may do a decent discount (they specialise in genuine VAG parts)... www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk/   edit: for some reason my link doesn't work. Just Google "TPS VAG", and they'll be top of the list.

There's also a thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/370343-briskoda-parts-p-p-pick-up-parts-genuine-dealer-parts/ with instructions to follow on there.

Best first to get a quote at a good local car repairer that does private repair work at sensible prices,

and not only inflated insurance job prices where often only New Parts must be used and simple body repairs are a no no.

I called Skoda regarding a price it's just under 203 for a new bumper not sure if that includes the defuser on the rear bumper as the guy wasn't sure. It's going to be another 198 for spraying and fitting and if I've damaged the rear bar which I don't think I have that will be another 75.

I'm sure I could probably get everything cheaper elsewhere but can't believe that a stupid mistake like that will cost me around 400 to fix but an expensive lesson learnt. Also I probably won't fix it right away I'll probably just leave it till when I hand the car back or when I'll save enough for the funds to allow it.

There's a body shop round the corner from me so I might go there before work and ask if they want to take a look at it for me.

Thanks for the help guys I'll have a look on your sites that you suggest and see if I can get quotes from there

Just tried these guys they wouldn't give me a quote as I wasn't a trader and asked me to call my local Skoda garage to get a quote for the part.

I know it is trade only so if you do not know anyone in the trade an independent repairer can get it. No need for main dealers. Do you not only need a Defuser?
